Ghouls at Grassmere

On Sunday night we went to
the Zoo in Nashville. It is located
at a historic home from 1810
called Grassmere. Every October
the zoo hosts a wonderful
event for the kids to come and
trick or treat safely.

Princess Emily and Air
Force Fighter Pilot Michael.

At the entrance we met
a couple of Ghostbusters!
Frankie joined us for the
night and we got pictures
with the guys and the ghosts!

The zoo has a great carousel
and Emily just had to ride
the giraffe. She did change
animals once she learned the
giraffe didn't actually go up
and down.

Michael on a black
bear. They both had
a great time on the ride.

Here are the kids posing
at one of the many photo ops.
Frankie was a Transformer.

Last Game of the Season

Michael played his last game
of the Franklin Fall Ball league
on Saturday. The boy sure
does love him some baseball!!!

Michael doesn't want to play
in the outfield so he'll run out
first and get the position he
wants. He got to play pitcher
during the first inning. It is
actually coach pitch, but they
put in someone at the position
of pitcher to play defensively.

Michael is Baseball Ready!

Michael got a new bat for his
birthday. It may be a little
long for him, but he loves it
anyway. He'll grow into it
someday. Today he smacked
the ball and Mom caught it
just after impact.

Looking from 2nd base
onto 3rd. Ready to run!

Big smiles for Mom at
3rd base. It helps when
Mom yells "Michael...smile!"

Granny and Grandaddy

Granny and Grandaddy took a
weekend excursion down to visit
with my parents in Naples. They
had a great visit with Mom, Dad
and Flat Michael. If anyone has
ever read the story "Flat Stanley"
you will appreciate Flat Michael
all the more. For those of you who
haven't read it, Michael made a
flat version of himself and put it
in the mail to go on various
trips. So far he's been to Knoxville,
Gloversville, Naples, Dollywood and
a UT football game. Quite an
exciting life for the little guy!

Granny and Grandaddy on
the deck at Mom's and Dad's
condo in Naples. Flat Michael
got to have his picture taken too.

I love this picture of Granny
and Grandaddy overlooking the
Gulf. Can you feel the Gulf
breezes? I know I can!

Riding Lesson at Home

On September 18th Emily
had a riding lesson at the
house. A 15 year old pony
clubber, Susannah, has been
coming out and helping her
with her riding. It is working
out great and Emily is having
lots of fun. Here are some
pictures of that day!

I wish Emily would wear
her helmet straight and
not all cockeyed!

Notice the new houses on
the developement of the
property my parents sold
to the subdivision next door.

Looking straight out from
the front of the house. It
still looks like we are out
in the country.

Emily completed her first
combination jump during
this lesson. Here she is
going over the first jump....

And here she is going over
the second jump. Way to
go Emily!!!! I was so
proud of her.

UT Vs. Arkansas State

I'm still trying to play
catch up on pictures. These
are from 3 weeks ago when
Tennessee played
Arkansas State.

My parents and Kenneth could
not go to the game so I called
my friend, Jennifer, and asked
if she could come up. She came
with her husband and daughter
for the weekend. Her son,
Alexander, was grounded and
had to stay home. Worked out
well since I only had 3 tickets

We got to eat lunch with
another friend from college,
Elizabeth. She is expecting
her second daughter to arrive
in a couple of months.

The kids were all over
Elizabeth's tummy once
she gave them the o.k. to
touch it. She was having
them feel where the head
was and where the feet were.

They loved it! I loved it
to
cause Emily gets her baby
fixes from someone other
than me!

Three college friends and
sorority sisters!

Would you believe that
Kaitlin just turned 5? She
is almost as tall as 8 year
old Emily.

Watching the Vol Walk. We
had a great position and could
see all the coaches and players.

Jennifer and Raymond getting
their Tennessee fix. It was a
see of orange out there.

Michael's Birthday

Michael celebrated his 6th
birthday in Knoxville before
the big Georgia Game.

What a birthday present!!!

Here he is:
"The Birthday Boy"!

Michael got a great
UT football cake from
Krogers. No cooking for
this Mommy!

Make a wish.....

What a haul...and there is
not anything from the
Joyner family in that bunch!

Go Vols!
I asked Emily if she
was really going to wear
pink to the game and she
assured me that she was.

Now that is just wrong!

Michael had outgrown his
baseball bat so we got him
a new one. I think it might
be a tad long for him. He
loves it though.

I found some Mustang
cologne at Goody's and
had to get him some. He
has been putting it on
everyday this week.

What a lady killer!

Gammy got Michael a
signet ring. It looks great
and he is very proud of it.
Let's keep our fingers crossed
that he doesn't lose it!

Pictures From The Beach

Two weekends ago we
took a quick trip to Florida
to see Granny and Chief.
We spent the night down
in Naples and went to the
beach for a whole hour
Monday morning before
heading back north. I
had to qet some photos
and thought they were
worth sharing.

How rare this is....my kids
hugging each other and
neither is screaming.

Emily posing for the camera.

How do I say "I Love You"?
Let me squeeze it into you.

Michael had a ball
playing in the surf.

I call this one "Coy Girl".

Dollywood Photos

Back in August we went to
Dollywood and had bought a
couple of pictures I wanted to
share with you. Our version of Bonnie & Clyde.
They make us so proud....

Kenneth and Gina, Frankie's
mom, rode the Thunderhead.
It was voted the #1 wooden
rollercoaster last year. They
had lots of fun so they rode it
again after this one.

On Michael's birthday, 10/5, we
took Mimi and Grandaddy to
Dollywood for their first visit.
I couldn't believe that Emily was
even willing to get on
Thunderhead, but here she is.
Kenneth got her to smile for
the camera, but throughout
the ride she kept repeating
"I'm not having fun on this!"
Needless to say she was a bit
weepy when she got off, didn't
ride it again, but said she might
the next time we go.
I'm not holding my breath.
I'll say this for her, she's braver
than I am.

No way would I get on that ride!

Product Service Fair

At Poplar Grove School
the entire third grade
participates in their
"Product Service Fair".
Each child works individually
or can partner up with a classmate.
They have to provide a service or
a product to sell. They had to make
advertisements, open/closed signs,
and decorate their booths. Each child
was asked to bring in 8 quarters in
which to buy items from each other.
They also had customers from 1st, 2nd,
4th grades and lots of teachers too.
Emily partnered with Hannah
from her class. They decided
to sell cookies. Well we went
to town with ideas to decorate
their booth. Here are some
pictures from the day of the
Product Service Fair.

Working Hard at selling cookies!

UT Vs. Southern Mississippi

I know I am very late
with these game pictures,
but I am trying to catch up! Emily had the best seat
in the place for the Vol
Walk.....Grandaddy's shoulders.

Michael sure loves his Daddy!

This is currently my wallpaper
on my computer. I love it!

I love our band! Here they
are marching down to the
stadium down Volunteer Blvd.

How serious he looks!

I Said It's Great To Be A Tennessee Vol!!!

Wow!!! What a game. I never
saw it coming, but oh how I savored
the sweet taste of victory. Guess the team and the coach
heard all the negative comments
and decided to use it to their
advantage. Go Vols!
Oh and by the way....How 'bout
them Tigers. Thanks for all the
help. Hope to see you in December!

Happy Birthday Michael!!!!!

Today is Michael's birthday.
Happy #6!!!! We are going
to celebrate by spending the
day at Dollywood. Pictures
are sure to come...... Birthday Buddies!

Franklin Fall Ball

It's baseball time in Franklin!
This is the first time Michael
has played baseball and not
been on the same team as his
best buddy, Frankie.
Can you believe that by
sheer coincidence Michael
has the same team colors
as he has had the past two
springs? We've got lots of
blue and red at our house!
Getting some pointers from Dad!
Could he look any scarier?
Hot footin' it to home.
Baseball Ready!
