Cub Scouts

Michael joined Cub Scouts
this year. First grade is the
earliest a boy can join. This
was his Tiger Cub year. The
following pictures are just a
few from the many events
this year! Cheese!
This is a picture that
Emily took for me. Michael
just received his Tiger Cub
badge for completing all
the requirements. Yeah
for Michael!

The guys were singing
"Lean On Me" and were
acting out the words.

On Abe Lincoln's actual
birthday we had an
impersonator come and
speak. He was very
good and at a later
meeting we made a
scrapbook page to
remember it!

Baseball season is here!!!!!

Michael is playing baseball again
this spring. He is on the Red
Sox in the 7-8 year old league.

This league is getting more
serious. We actually keep
score, strike out and can
be thrown out at the bases.
Michael actually struck
out at his first at bat. He
didn't handle it to well.

Made it to base at his
second at bat.

Once more at the plate.

And two players later...
score!!!!!

Michael volunteered to
play catcher one inning
The equipment is bigger
than he is!

Team rally at the end of the
game. The Red Sox lost
close one, had lots of fun
and are looking forward to
the next game!

Radnor Lake Hike

One of Michael's requirements
for earning his Tiger Cub
badge was to go on a hike with
his den. We scheduled a hike,
but only we showed up. Even
though it was only the 3 of us,
it was lots of fun! First wildflowers blooming
at Radnor.
Radnor Lake in Nashville.
It is a the middle of a
residential area. Quite a
haven from the hustle and
bustle of city life.

Another view of the lake.

This picture was taken early
on the hike.....before we were
tuckered out!

Utah!!!!!

We had a great week skiing
in Utah this year. We definitely
improved a lot and quite a few
firsts happened!!!! Everyone
braved the terrain park at Sundance.
I even did the table top. I decided
that once was enough. Emily and
Michael kept going back for more.

I found two black diamond runs
that had been groomed and we
tackled them. The kids skied them
like they were little beginner runs
and they had no trepidation about
skiing them. I was so proud. The run at
Sundance was definitely the hardest
thing that the kids and I had ever
skied. It was awesome!!!!

We also had our first fall that
resulted in Ski Patrol being
called. Michael got cocky and
went into some fresh powder
with to much speed and he ended
up somersaulting in the snow. He
came up screaming. Emily went in
after him, promptly fell and came
up crying. I skied down to them
and took my skis off and went into
them. I knew if I skied in, I'd been
down with them. We didn't know if
it was serious, so Ski Patrol was called.
Everyone was fine when it was all said
and done. Michael hurt his back just
a bit, but bounced back and skied the
rest of the day with a little more caution.
I was fine with that!!!!!

Michael had a great week. He is
such a natural skier. I wish he
wasn't so fearless though!

Emily is a great little
skier. She improved a lot
this week and we had lots
of fun!!! She really tries
to take our suggestions and
improve her technique.

Showing us their

racing postitions!

This was taken at Snowbasin
on one of the few pretty days
we had. Lots of snow and for
those who love powder...it was
great. For those of us who don't
it proved to be challenging.

Toothless Wonder!

Michael is slowly losing his
baby teeth. Here are a few
pictures from when
the
last two teeth to come out!

Why would that tooth
come out first???? Made
for very unique pictures
and even more interesting
eating techniques!

Do you hear the braces
calling? Don't worry...
they'll be here before we
know it! We start in 2
weeks with orthodontic
work!!!! My pocketbook...Ouch!

Finally....we are toothless
on top. He has two more
loose right now. If they
come out soon....he definitely
will be the toothless wonder!

We're back!

Sorry to have been out of touch.
